Pointe to Point Dance Forum Blog
contributed by Valentina Riccardi

Set up in 2003, the Pointe to Point, the Asia-Europe Dance Forum aims to empower aspiring young artists from Asia and Europe to reflect upon their views of contemporary society through their individual artistic expressions.

The 6th edition of Pointe to Point enters its third phase, by supporting three projects that emerged from the intense collaborative work during the previous stages. The project provides around twenty young dance professionals with a process-oriented platform for artistic exchange and dialogue through dance.

Alkantara and Asia Europe Foundation have set up this blog, in order to document the phases of the project, before and after the 2 weeks meeting in Lisbon, in June 2009.

At the end of the Lisbon Meeting, after two weeks of familiarisation, collaboration, dialogue and challenges, the participant artists were invited to present projects of artistic collaboration. Out of the nine projects received, three were selected for development over the next year, through artistic residences between Europe and Asia.
