Škuc Gallery has been operating in Ljubljana since 1978 as part of the ŠKUC Cultural Centre, one of the pillars of non-governmental culture in Slovenia. Škuc Gallery has become a prominent international art centre for exhibitions, different art events, publishing and documentation.
The focus on regional and local developments represents a significant segment of the Gallery's programme but at the same time the involvement in the international cultural scene has been growing. Škuc Gallery has developed into an art production centre and since 2000 it has also started to represent its artists at international art fairs. Its concepts has been changed into presenting more radical positions, critical or even ironical, towards the actual global problems like migrations, surveillance, urban planning, consumerism, terrorism. The artists presented are dealing with all these issues and are presented with different art works ranging from new media installations, drawings, photography to videos.
On the website, there is an events calendar withe present and past programmes and links to other artistic institutions, associations and galleries.
