ACTION Theatre (1987) is a company that focuses on developing and presenting original new works, known for its refreshing approach in creating stage plays that explore topical and contemporary issues in an imaginative manner. ACTION Theatre also presents musicals, and houses an intimate studio theatre, outdoor performance stages, classrooms, a book & CD shop and a Thai restaurant. ACTION Theatre wants to help discover and nurture new talents, and regularly organizes theatre classes and playwriting competitions. It also periodically presents local productions of important international works as part of its repertoire. Its raison d’etre is to present everything and anything new and thought-provoking. It has an impressive array of past performances and has maintained a steady stream of socially-aware productions.
